Who We Are

Shun Fat Supermarket is a rapidly-growing Asian supermarket chain selling a wide range of imported grocery items from Asia, including from China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In 1993, Chinese-Vietnamese entrepreneur and seafood wholesaler Hieu Tran opened our first store serving the Chinese community of Monterey Park, California.  Since our founding nearly 20 years ago, we have experienced rapid expansion, thanks to strong customer loyalty and to the excellent support and cooperation of our suppliers, who share our core values.  We are now the USA's fastest growing Asian supermarket chain, with a total of 13 stores conveniently located throughout California and Nevada.

About our Name

"Shun Fat" is the romanized transcription of ?? in Cantonese.  Shun fa (??) in the Chinese language and thu?n phát in the Vietnamese language both mean a "favorable distribution" (of wealth).
